hi im new sorry to put up such a demanding post as my first. my grandad died fifteen years ago and since then his old 12bore has been in storage, i have been to have a look at recently with an intrest to reclaim it. the makers name on it is Ashley H.Fox. does anyone know anything about this maker? cheers sambu13

Ansley H. Fox shotguns were known as "The Finest Shotguns In The World". They were manufactured in Phila. from 1905 to the early 1930's. Boxlock hammerless A. H. Fox sgotgun. It has 30" bbls, chambered for 2 3/4" shells, has a very tight action, Krupp steel barrels, custom checquering, T. Roosevelt took an A.H. Fox shotgun to Africa with him in 1909 and said "I had a Fox No. 12 shotgun, no better gun was ever made".
