Rabbits are digging up my lawn and my shotgun is useless - makes too much noise and everything goes!
Can anyone suggest what I should be looking to buy please. ie a .22 for use with existing licence together with a good lamp and scope?
Thank you

If its your lawn I would buy a good air rifle in .177 calibre and if you have a bit of spare cash go for a precharged one.

Any decent air rifle will do the job - doesn't really matter if it's .177 or .22, it's just personal choice as is whether its a pre-charged or 'conventional' spring type or through the pre-charged ones are easier to shoot. Just make sure the rifle you choose is close to the legal limit of 12 ft/lbs and you fit (or it comes with)a decent scope, and even then a scope is not strictly necessary, and it it will cope nicely.

Yes, either .177 or .22 is fine. Couple of recommendations:
Spring: HW97K or HW95K
PCP: Air Arms S410K or BSA Superten Carbine
-------------------- Ben Taylored-FAC 34ft/lb Rapid Mk2 .22 + Bushnell Elite 4200 Tactical 6-24 x 50
Weihrauch HW100T K .177 + Bushnell Legend 5-15 x 40AO
Weihrauch HW95 .22 with full V-Glide conversion + Bushnell Sportsman 3-9 x 40
Webley Mark III, .22 + open sights

If you want to pay as little as possible but still wind up with a decent hunting springer, go for a webley xocet: solid, reliable, and excellent for rabbits.
