before buying any, get into your local firearms dealer, a reputable one. Ask if you can try a few out, a good dealer will let you have on loan a couple of guns, try them, then try more, when you like the feel......buy it..

also look to the inhouse makers, beretta are a superb choice wether old or new, older are my preference, as the steel grades are better, franchi are from the same house, along with browning.

some spanish guns , although not of the same pedigree offer fantastic value for money, as a lanber, or better still the aramberri models, these are from the same stable as perazzi, at a fraction of the cost !
