Any decent air rifle will do the job - doesn't really matter if it's .177 or .22, it's just personal choice as is whether its a pre-charged or 'conventional' spring type or through the pre-charged ones are easier to shoot. Just make sure the rifle you choose is close to the legal limit of 12 ft/lbs and you fit (or it comes with)a decent scope, and even then a scope is not strictly necessary, and it it will cope nicely.
