was out 2day, 28th oct, with my 2 yr old male springer spaniel an had the delight 2 flush the 1st woodcock i've seen this yr,it was tobys 1st woodcock ever, hopefully the 1st of many, he totally had me made up an was faultless in his pursuit, unfortunately i didn't have the trusty AYA with me so off went one woodcock to give some one a bit of sport another day, i have the privlege of living on the north coast of ireland and the wily old cock always seems 2 give us earlier sport than some regions, heres hoping you will all be joining in the pursuit off these elusive gamebirds soon.
