Value of my browning 425 grade 6

Could anyone tell me an approximate value of my browning 426 grade 6 I believe! How do I find out for sure what model it is? It has 28" barrells. It has gold inlays of 3 ducks on one side, 2 gold pheasants on the other, a gold setter below and another gold bird under the trigger guard. Is it possible to get details from serial number? Its in mint condition. Where would be the best place to sell. Was offered £800 by a dealer but I have no idea of its true worth! Can anybody help?

Condition and age if poss?

If you are after a ball park figure. Look around guntrader.co.uk and search for Shotguns, Browning, 425, etc And compare your one against others of a similar condition.

Also remember a dealer will offer you less than it is worth as they want to sell it for a profit. But it is easier to sell to a dealer than advertise it in mags or online, then arrange meetings with all potential buyers etc etc.

Good luck
