Best tip of all would be to buy a book - it will help no ends with patterns, techniques etc. And you will always have it as reference point. One tip i can give you is take a pair of binos and watch the pigeons - where they come from, where they go, their behavour etc, not just when you are shooting - but everytime you are out |

Buy a video or get a day with a pro pigeon shooter, it will be the best day of your life. I won a day out with John Batley of Shooting Times fame, it was fantastic and I learned all about fieldcraft. He has several videos out, have a look on the internet. I`v been pigeon shooting for about 25 years now and have had some very good days in my hide with my springer. It`s well worth doing IF you can find the land to shoot on. |
