Goose shooting- the pro's and con's

Hey guys....just wondering how many guys in the U.K. actually shoot geesee...and what methods do you use to shoot them. Being from lancashire i have the benefit of martin mere wildfowl reserve next to the farm i live in...With numbers of canada, grey lag, barnacle, white breasted and pink footed geese numbering in their tens of thousands between october and january i can say that i am a lucky boy, my best pal and i shot 6 at the end of this season with a greylag goose weighing in at a notible 10lbs. This however was done by stalking the geese. Having watched countless vidoes of americans doing ti it becomes apparent there favoured method is decoying but the decoys seem incredibly expensive... anyone with any ideas or suggestions?
regards.... Mike

We simply waited on a flight pond. Saw bugger-all on the goose front till the 30th Feb, then had 2 in one go which made it all worthwhile!

Yes, that was a good few days shooting kembo!
I think we should invest in some semi-auto shotguns, just for that one extra round..... third time lucky as they say!
