I really want to get into rifle shooting but i dont have a clue where to begin. Could anybody tell me where i would need to go and what i need to get to own a rifle? i mainly want to try rabbiting/lamping. im from dover and have never seen any proper shooting shops around. any information would be very appreciated thanks

You need first of all land to shoot over,(this needs to be considered fit for rifles to be used on)so go and see your local farmers etc, then you need to apply for a firearms certificate(police station),once you have these two you can go and buy your rifle. Tony A.

Thats a bit of a catch 22 situation because the chances of finding somewhere if you don't know how is about nil. Best idea is to go on the pigeonwatch forum and see if you can tie up with some shooters in your area. Or join a club, even a clay club because shooters network a lot of times. Contact the NRA at Bisley for a list of rifle clubs in your area. What ever you do try to get along to their open day at Bisley in September. Its a great day out and you can try lots of rifles and pistols.
