Barrel trouble!
      #3178 - 22/05/2008 17:47

I was shooting with a friend yesterday and he decided to shoot at a target from the hip (it was safe) with his overandunder shotgun; and both barrels went off- the result of this was that now the top barrel fires before the bottom barrel.
How can he get it to get back in sync? Should he try the shot again to get the cycle the correct way round?!
P.S. He does not have a barrel selector which could have got knocked.

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Now that does surprise me, they are always very reliable.
It must be an old one not to have a selector button. I had one in the eighties and that had a selector. sounds like alot of wear to me. Take the stock off and have a look, you will see what is happening.

He thinks it could be to do with the inertia system and that both barrels went off and muddled up the order as the shot was from the hip and there was nothing to blow back against? (If that makes sense!)

Yeh! I understand what you mean but he should be able to see and adjust when the stock is off without too much problem unless there is a lot of wear.
