what about .22 rifle on farmland

im not that clued up on the law!

im only just getting into shooting , i dont need a license or insurance to shoot on farmland do i ?
obviously i would have the farmers permission,

i would be shooting rabbits rat and squirrel,

Meganecc,

You don't say what .22 you will be shooting with. If you're talking about an air rifle with a muzzle energy of less than 12 Ft/Lbs, then no, no licence/certificate is needed.

If you're talking about a .22 rimfire rifle, then yes, you need a Firearm Certificate from whatever police force area you live in.

Insurance is not a legal requirement, but it makes sense to have it and if you're a member of one of the shooting organisations, you'll probably find insurance is included as a part of your subscription. They'll also be able to help you with an application for a firearm certificate if you need one.

many thanks , my rifle is 12ft/lbs, so thats good glad to hear i dont need a license or insurance,
