does any one know the rules of using an air rifle on comman land and how do you find out if land is comman land

Hmmm, thats a trickey one!
More likely to have an armed response team swooping down on you.
If common land is classed as a public place, then you would be breaking the law by carrying an uncovered airgun....I think

There are by laws in place on a lot of common land to restrict shooting, take the New Forest as an example.

Also the risks associated with shooting on land that has open access are too big most of the time, I have some lamd that is subject to the CRoW act and I dont shoot that in that in the day time and only use a shot gun for safety reasons.
