Hi All
I am pretty new to shooting, I have only borrowed guns before so don't know much about the various makes and models.
For my first gun I have around £400 to spend, do any of you have any advice on good makes/models to go for?
I will be shooting both clays and game, in the past I have mainly used under and overs and seemed to have the most success with these. However I do love the look of the side by sides!
What can I get for £400? Is it worth getting together another £100 to get me up to entry level Beretta guns??
I look forward to hearing from you
Shaun

Hi Shaun. I have used a Lanber for 15 years for both clay and rough shooting in all weathers and i have only had one minor problem with the gun.
£400 should get you a decent lanber,I am not to sure about the price of beretta perhaps another member can help. my wife uses a beretta 682 and has never had any trouble with the gun.
Best of luck with your shooting

This is about the cheapest Beretta O/U I have seen recently. You might be able to go cheaper if you considered a semi auto.

A friend at work had a Lanber which did the job, but he recently bought a 686 and now cannot imagine shooting with anything else. Personal preference though, go to a shop and shoulder a few of them

Hi Skelkelly, I started with a Bettinsoli. Not the most glamerous gun in the world but great value and did exactly what is asked of it.
With £500 you will buy a new or ex-demo Bettinsoli giving the confidence of a warranty that is rarely supplied on a used gun.
My Diamond came with a full set of chokes, an ABS plastic case and the usual choke keys, locks etc.
All the best!
