Rabbit Shooting Spoilt!
      #3354 - 25/06/2008 21:06

Bad day today.. just found out from my friendly landowner that the rabbits that I've been shooting (and eating) were all gassed by the Highways Agency today while I was at the office. My permission is on a farm that backs onto the motorway and apparently they were running up the embankment causing drivers to swerve. I've no real issue with the safety side of things but it'll put a dent in my rabbiting plans..

I wonder how long before they re-populate and I can get back to my preferred form of controlling the numbers?

It can take a while to recover the numbers, a golf course I know gassed a large section 4 years ago, they have only just started shooting them again this spring.

A lot will depend on the locality though.
