White Pheasants
      #3480 - 18/07/2008 11:58

I am a member of a small syndicate and we have bought our birds in. I would like to get a few white pheasants to put out as well just so we can have a bit of fun fines etc if they are shot.

Can anyone help me as to where I would get some from

Many thanks in advance

Craig

Hi Craig.
I'm rearing a few hundred pheasants at home at the moment and i have a few white pheasants that ive reared from days olds. I don't think they'd last long out in the wild for as long as the other birds as they really stand out so natural selection is against them. My idea is that i can use the white pheasants to see if i've controlled vermin well enough, as if they start disappearing then i can do something about it. Also they will show how far they disperse from the release point.
But back to the question... i think the best bet is to ring a local game farm to see if they have many that they want to get rid of. How many birds do you release and shoot with your syndicate? where about are you in the country?
Henry
