Possibly two more members have found a shoot- from less than 70 members.
We have hopes of achieving much more as the membership expands and we have a wider area covered. Its FREE OF CHARGE to users too!!

I have looked at this site over the weekend after reading these posts, and i can say its idea is brilliant, all good sporting people helping sporting people and for free it appears. However, I was disgusted to see a sister site promoted within PUBS called 'get it off your chest'.

This basically is a one sided attack on another site helping people obtain beating. There were personal attacks, the 'admin' conducting the whole proceedings ! there is even a discussion on the private life of the CEO of the other forum ! I personally think this sort of childish , moronic behaviour has no right in the field sports arena.
Yes all sites have a few problems but this is pure venom !

Sporting folk ? i don't think so, people to be avoided at all costs ? yes !! i left this sort of behaviour at the school yard and that's where it belongs !!

Disgusted

Hugh

I agree that the personal attacks were possibly OTT and have asked that people desist.
However every site or forum that i have joined- and there are many-seems to attract an element which seeks to belittle PuBS and me personally. Indeed my account and several others accounts ,mainly from another Forum, who were posting aggressively about PuBS and me -were deleted by that organisation.
I felt that there was a need for a place where such people cold have a full and frank exchange of views and Getitorfyerchest happened.
For your information there have been 2549 hits on the site since it was started on 25th, September 2008
Guntrader Forum owner has supported it as a place where unpleasantness can be resolved without marring other Fora.
It also has the advantage that questions can be asked without being deleted as so often happens on other Fora.

PuBS is not run for financial gain or profit of any description- it its totally FREE to all users - it is not a commercial organisation and is not a limited Company.

Well congratulations, it seems the site is developed to fuel the anti shooting lot and not for anything constructive to help our sport.

I personally think you should act your age (assuming you are over 15) and direct your efforts into helping get beating for people.

If you say you are attacked on other forums and felt so aggrieved about it you developed that forum to boost your ego, just feel how the people you 'attack' on your site feel ! two wrongs do not make a right !

I agree with Hugh.

Is this new site not the clever workings of a group Antis?
What better way to spoil the sport than to pretend to be part of it then do that.

I found the contents in the off the chest site very distasteful. There is no way that somebody from the shooting world would put such stuff up.

Its no surprise that you have not been welcome on other sites, if that's true. How old are you? out of interest?

There is no place for a stroppy kids ramblings in any world, this sort of thing is a sad reflection on todays society. You should be ashamed of yourselves

Do you want to see the arsenal of guns and ammunition to prove I am not an anti?
I am 59 and my REAL name is attached to this post.
Should you wish to see childish behaviour then I can send you my files of identities and posts made by people, some who have used a multitude of IP addresses and names. Also the bullying attempts by another forum to deny the existence of PuBS.GIOYC was a response to concentrate any venom in one forum and not clutter up others.

There is plenty of room in countryside pursuits for all. PuBS is totally FREE to users - and its working.

Shame is for the people who hide, using false names, and in some cases cross dressing(!!)and seem to not like answering valid questions, even to the extent of deleting them and suspending the accounts of those asking them.
If you treat people like that then when things come back to haunt you dont try and get away with taking the high ground.

Hugh
Countryside pursuis are not dominated by one forum but some are more troublesome than others. Guntrader for one was afflicted with countless troll attacks and is supportive of a forum where hopefully they can vent their spleen without putting off other users.
Your tone is rather patronising if I may so?
And your style of prose appears familiar too.

I doubt anything is familiar as i have never posted in any forums relating to yourself, i just saw this site and felt it wasn't something this site (shooting uk)should not encourage. For a 59 year old man i think you should know better and indeed have more constructive things to be doing than sit on your pc making wild comments such as "using false names, and in some cases cross dressing" are these the words of a rational 59 year old ?

I hope that people will see through your site, after reading more of your comments on both PUBs and the other it is clear that you, and some of the others have a personal issue with one site and you come across as being a very bitter people. Yes some much more than others, but after all you developed it just for that purpose !!
I personally have never been onto guntrader site, but would hope any creditable site would have nothing to do with a site set up for the sole intention of personal attacks, insults and childish behavior.

This is by no way a personal attack, just as i see it.

Hugh
I have several pages of IP addresses used by one person identified as a senior member of another forum, posting under several different names and obviously using masking software to try and hide their identity. Several countryside fora have been granted access to PuBS records, to liaise, in order to identify and counter such people. We are not alone in suffering from people who perceive another forum as a threat to their fiefdom.
One tends to get rather fed up when continuing negativiy follows one around hence gioyc - set up to try and get these people to respond in a positive manner.
The questions posed have been put in open Forum and in emails to the persons in charge, many were deleted. In my case I have emails asking that I put any questions that i wished answered to the CEO, I did - he didnt.
In one case a member of another forum joined PuBS and was deleted as county rep and as a member- no advice given as to why but one can draw ones own conclusions.
There is a lot more to the background and i am happy to speak to you personally- ring me it is FREE.

All guns held by me are legally held under the appropriate certificates and if you think that i would jeopardise my continued holding and use of the same you are living on a different planet.
There is no threat involved unless you have such a twisted mind that you are fearful of any other person.
I like to be open in dealing with people - you implied I was an anti I stated that an anti is highly unlikely to have the LEGALLY held weaponry which I do, you can view same if you so wish, that was all.
I am beating today at a shoot where there are two new beaters - both found through PuBS at short notice and totally FREE of charges to them and the shoot. I am taking a supply of FREE baseball caps as quite a few of the beaters there are now PuBS members.

as of today 3104 hits on website, average 300 per day on forum, 212 members of forum. More shoots coming on board. A member running their own shoot is offering practical experience of beating or picking up, on a real shoot day, for a very reasonable fee.

Morning all,

I just thought that I would add my opinion to this thread... While I commend the work of PuBS, and for that matter NOBs, in getting people out there into the shooting field, I'm afraid the ShootingUK forum is not a place for suspicion, personal attacks, jibes, insults or innuendo.

As regular users will know, we keep it light and helpful on this forum — if you've got a shooting-related question to ask or a discussion to start, this is the place to do it. We aren't here to provide a place for individuals to have a hack at each other.

Nick, I sympathise with you over hostility you have faced from users of forums elsewhere, but my view is that fighting fire with fire is not the answer, so I find gioyc really very confrontational. I don't believe that, as you say elsewhere, "Shooting uk is the latest forum for personal attacks on me", I simply think that other people here disagree with your approach.

I just wanted to remind you all that we're a friendly forum — we won't tolerate the sort of posts and the tone seen elsewhere.

Yours, Alastair.

I take your point Alastair.
When i formed PuBS I had no intention of doing anything else than promote our sport. Unfortunately others did not.
People who know me personally will confirm that I am normally a very happy go lucky person who takes people as he finds them.
Can you imagine the frustration when everything i did, every forum i joined, was attacked by the same few people posting negatively.
Should you wish I can send you the exhaustive dossier compiled with the comments and IP addys etc etc. - I confess it is all rather boring!
I will now be a POSITIVE member of this forum and participate wherever I can.

Well said Alistair, at last the voice of reason to echo my concerns. As said there was no personal malice as i don't know any of the folk concerned, just though GIOYC was not in the spirit of fieldsports.
