Hello everyone
I have been searching everywhere and found no satisfactory answer to my question!!
We all know that a 12 bore gets its name because a sphere of lead of the same diameter would weigh 1/12 of a pound.
BUT... Where do the pellet/shot size numbers come from. I.e. I use 6 shot for pheasants and 7 shot for woodcock - where do the 6 & 7 come from?
Does anyone know???
