Hello, Im new...
      #3786 - 26/09/2008 23:28

Hi there, Id just like to introduce myself as im new here and im just starting to get into shooting - Well, Im 14 years old and ive got a springer spaniel from the Rytex line which is now about 15 months old, I recently went to the Chatsworth country fair and the Shropshire game fair (I must admit shropshire was by far the best) I entered my dog into his first scurry at the Midlands game fair also in the up and over which is fairly easy =]

Anyway Ive just taken an interest into shooting and hopefully in the future want to go beating and work my dog or I like the idea of pigeon shooting with the decoys etc after watching Chris Greens DVD on pigeon shooting - not sure if any of you know him

Cya :smirk:

Hello James,
thats a very good line of springer you have there, the Rytex line. All my springers have been Rytex and have been first class, however if you want to use the dog in the hide then you must get him/her to sit and stay for long periods while he/she is still young because they don`t like it at all. Try getting a net set up on the lawn and sit in it with the dog for an hour to get him/her use to it, but do it every day for a week, or two even until they sit quiet. It will be difficult but dont give up ,they are very, very intelligent dogs, I love them.
Good luck.
