Shotguns & Inheritance Tax
      #3858 - 09/10/2008 13:32

I was given some information the other day as our syndicate got our eyes in for the season at the local clay ground. It concerned how shotguns are dealt with as part of the estate of a recently deceased owner.

Is it the case that shotguns fall outside of the estate for inheritance tax purposes? If so, what is the most efficient way to pass on shotguns to the son and heir?

I believe shotguns do form part of the estate, but if sold later then they are exempt from CGT.
