    Lanber

    Just purchased a lanber over and under.
    Is there any way for me to get some info on the gun
    Age and model from the serial numbers.
    Thanks

    Look for the serial number. The first two numbers should be 13 (the code for Lanber), then 3 (the code for shotgun), then the manufacturer's serial number, then two figures denoting the year of manufacture (for instance 99 would indicate 1999). The importers (GMK) should be able to tell you the model. You can phone them on 01489-579999. As I am sure you know, the guns are no longer made, but I understand GMK still hold a good stock of spares.
    There's a lot of information if you Google "Spanish gun date codes". The above information works for all Spanish guns made in the past 22 years. Earlier information on Spanish date codes at http://www.shotguns.se/html/spain.html.
    Manufacturer's codes are:
    13 = Lanber
    16 = AyA
    27 = Armas Garbi
    31 = Grulla Armas
    35 = Ignacio Ugartechea
    40 = Kemen (Thanks Jon S for this)
    46 = Pedro Arrizabalaga
    57 = Arrieta
    60 = Zabala Hermanos
