Excellent! It's amazing how proud these things can make you feel as an owner/handler/trainer.

We aren't quite at your stage yet, but when my pup moved from balls/small dummies to his full size duck dummy and made his first retrieve it was a very rewarding moment.

It seems pretty young to be starting full gundog work, but if it's working for you and the pup it's hard to argue with. Well done that puppy!

She is young and has a long way to go. We generally work on pen raised birds and controlled settings. She was gradually introduced to gun fire until now she she gets excited at the sight and sound of a shotgun report. A flight of woodcock came through and the opportunity to get her on some wild bird scent was a great training aide. We will continue to work on her steadiness to shot. Honoring another dogs point and water retrieves and tracking.
