You have always needed a FAC in N Ireland for a air rifle so its not really an issue here.

Are you saying that you don't care if it does not affect you personally ?

True N ireland do have FAC for air guns!!

But the problem is once they have it in scotland, they most likley inforce it for the whole UK a year later!!!!!!

its a money making SCAM nothing to do with public safety!

I wonder if a .177 GAT gun come under the licensing
If you can't buy one, nor import one, then your only option is to manufacturer one! :) BULLSEYE

One problem with the Scottish Government is that very few, if any, MSPs know the first thing about country sports. Seems incredible in a country which relies so heavily on shooting and fishing for its tourist income. Far too much power seems to be weilded by city MSPs who do not understand the countryside at all. As for licensing air rifles and pistols, only responsible people will go through the process, and the yobs won't bother. It will not achieve anything in terms of public safety.

There has been plenty of Talk - but putting it into Action is near impossible

As there is No Funding and it would cost a Fortune

With Central Governments Record on computers / Systems

Let alone officers dealing with those that applied

    But time will Tell -

Trouble is once a item has been issued without traceable records
    It's near impossible to sort

Yes Dealers have a VCR Record - but they Only go as far as the Dealers Register

Fingers Crossed that they are not able to make it work -
