    Cool Summer is here

Ok it's been pouring down,But I saw a pair of swallows this morning here in the North East of England.
Must be a sign of better weather to come?

We have showers down here but very strong sunshine in between. The lawn is growing here at a right old rate of knots.

On a similar note, woodpeckers appeared in the garden last week. I know they're not migratory, but I've never seen any in the garden during the winter. Perhaps because it's dark all the bloody time.

In any case, for me, woodpeckers = summer
