Glad to hear the shooting season is going well for others. Both woodcock, and young dogs make a days shooting enjoyable. Put the two together, as they should be and the day can't really get any better.

The woodcock are here in numbers. I spent a day shooting over my setter last week, and saw quite a few. I was lucky enough to have a good day, as I took the first three woodcock we flushed. A daily limit here. At days end I had two pheasant, also a days limit, and a ruffed grouse to compliment the woodcock. A great day, though I'd like to have another chance on a high, fast flying tree flushed grouse I missed in the afternoon.

Anyone else having a good season?
