We have a approx 1400 mixed field and plantation estate to shoot over and have a large resident population of woodcock, which hopefully when the moon is right in November will result in even more alighting there. Last year we had 47 woodcock in the season and saw and missed somewhere in the region of 120-140 more.

The first woodcock this year was seen back in september whilst dogging in, but as I said earlier we have a large resident population, so always difficult to tell whether it is an early migrant or not.
