Gun Type - Sporter or Game

I have posted a similar question elsewhere but as I am interested in pigeon shooting I will ask here as well.

I am looking to buy my first gun a Beretta silver pigeon, but getting conflicting advise on which is best a sporter for all round shooting or a more focused game gun.

I hope to join my father in law pigeon shooting and build skills on the clay ground. I hope to find some rought shooting as I am currently training a dog.

Is a sporter ok or a game gun more appropriate ...or does it not realy matter?
