Howa Sporter 22-250
      18/05/2008 09:21

Having just taken delivery of my new Howa 1500 Sporter in 22-250, I can report that for £430 its not only very good value, but also excellent build quality and very nice to use.

It is coupled with a Falcon 4x14x56 scope and it took 8 rounds to zero in at 300 yards.

As its going to be a fox rifle, the only thing I would say is you need a bi-pod! All in all, for a shade under £700 this package is well worth considering. I have not put a modereator on it, although have one on my licence if I decide I need one, the thinking being that even with one, it still makes a reasonable 'crack' and ear plugs are cheaper (you get a lot of throw-away ones for £200!!)

The main gripe I have is that there dont seem to be any cases out there to fit the damn thing!!
